PSE's Guardian Home Standby Generators
Now, you can have your own personal power plant right next to your house so you and your family will have the emergency power to be safe, secure and comfortable everyday!
The Guardian home standby generator is an automatic system that produces your own electricity as soon as it senses a power outage - 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Permanently installed, the Guardian starts automatically whether you're home or away. And unlike a portable generator, you don't have to go outside, run extension cords, or refuel it with messy gasoline because it runs off your natural gas or LP gas supply. How It Works After the Guardian home standby system has been installed outside your home or business, the automatic transfer switch is installed next to your main distribution panel. With an air-cooled system, once you've selected the circuits you want protected, you match those circuits from your main distribution panel to the transfer switch's load center circuits. Larger generators may protect all circuits with an appropriate transfer switch. The system monitors incoming voltage from the utility line - around the clock. When the utility power has been interrupted, the transfer switch senses the problem and signals for the generator to start. The automatic transfer switch will then safely close off the utility line and open a new power line from the generator. Within seconds your home standby system will begin supplying electricity to your pre-selected circuits. When utility line voltage has returned at a steady state, the transfer switch will re-transfer the electrical load back to the utility source and resume monitoring for subsequent utility loss.
